What ultimately became known as “Present an Event” was a pathway throughout the years, inspired by the idea of the importance to “Make a Community” and one way to do this is to get the participation of local small businesses.
An example is the Inwood Manhattan Family Parade that was held in 2009 with over 100 kids and their parents in festive costumes with participation from retailers.
The parade was covered by news outlets including NY1 which is one of the primary providers for New Yorkers.
At the time, Northern Manhattan was a very entrepreneurial oriented area where success of companies depended on neighborhood support.
As can be seen in the video below, the parade proceeded along Broadway Avenue, with costumed kids literally going store to store being given treats.
The media facilitation of this community undertaking was the then Video Film Web.
